“Really Nice” Salisbury Steak
Ingredients
Here are the basic ingredients that you will need to make
“Really Nice” Salisbury Steak:
lean ground beef
egg
worcestershire sauce
mustard (your choice)
package of Lipton Onion Soup Mix
bread crumbs
stick butter
all purpose flour
beef stock
Method
To make “Really Nice” Salisbury Steak, simply…
1
In a bowl, combine the beef, egg, worcestershire, mustard, bread crumbs and Lipton soup mix. Form into four patties.
2
In a wide skillet over medium-high heat, add enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Brown the patties on each side for 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
3
Turn the heat down to medium-low. Add the butter and once melted, throw in the flour. Stir constantly until browned. Add the beef stock and turn to a simmer. Once incorporated, season however you’d like (salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder). Add the patties back to the pan and cook covered for another 10-15 minutes, until cooked through.

I prefer mine over rice, but serve over potatoes or anything else you like!

There is a big difference between the food I’d like to cook and the food that I’ll actually cook. I enjoy being in the kitchen, but I don’t have a lot of time to spend there. And let’s get real, I’m not going to multiple stores to grocery shop. I need to keep things quick and easy.
This is a collection of recipes that are in rotation on the dinner menu at my house, with a few that I developed just for this book. I hope that no matter your skill level or how busy you are, you can turn to any page and say, “I can do that!”.
Cooking should be fun, and it doesn’t have to involve hard-to-come-by ingredients. If you cook with love in your heart for the people you care about, it doesn’t matter if it’s from scratch or a can.
Y’all come fix you a plate!
