From a young age, I dreamed of two things: becoming a mother and a nurse. I always envisioned my home as a place filled with children, love, laughter, and plenty of food—a true haven of warmth and connection. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate the profound role that food plays in our families, homes, and culture. It’s not just sustenance; it’s a way of sharing love, creating memories, and bringing people together. My journey as a cook has been shaped by a blend of life experiences—growing up in an era when food became more universal through media and global influences vs local cooking. Through traveling, experimenting, and learning through trial and error. I’ve taken inspiration from my grandmother’s and mother’s cooking styles, adapting them into my own, and finding joy in every dish I prepare. As a career hospice nurse, I’ve been honored to support families during some of life’s most difficult times. I’ve witnessed firsthand how friends and neighbors bring comfort through the universal gift of food, a powerful expression of care and compassion. I believe I’ve been blessed with the gift of hospitality, and my home always has an open door and a table with room for one more. I find joy in being active in my community through my church and our local school. However, the greatest blessings of my life are the moments spent with my husband, Chuck, and our nine children. Together, we savor life through Christ, music, travel, sports, and the quiet, simple pleasures of being together in our home.
